  2. Create the group in the Admin console or Google Cloud Directory Sync.<\/li>\n

    2. Go to Menu\u00a0>Security > Authentication > 2-step verification.<\/li>\n
    3. To apply the setting only to some users, select an\u00a0organizational unit\u00a0(often used for departments) or configuration\u00a0group\u00a0(advanced).\u00a0(This step is optional). Group settings will override organizational units.<\/li>\n
    4. In the\u00a0Groups\u00a0section, enter the name of the configuration group that you created.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      If you don\u2019t find your group, it might have been created in\u00a0Google Groups.<\/p>\n

      Configuration groups must be created in the Admin console, the\u00a0Directory API, or Google Cloud Directory Sync.<\/p>\n

          1. When a member of the Exempt from 2-Step Verification group enrols in 2-Step Verification, remove them from the Exempt from 2-Step Verification group.<\/li>\n
